Blogging in medicine

July 7th, 2008

Internet or WWW has certainly changed how the world communicate and how information is being disseminated. News about an event that happens in one part of the globe can now be communicated to the rest of the world within minutes. In medicine, it is now possible for anyone to search for medical information by Googling it on the net. Everything is just a click away! Indeed one could say that there is too much information when you have Googled the topic. You are almost paralysed just by looking at the number of links thrown up by the search.

Blogging is another extension of the internet. It has allowed anyone the chance to have a site to express ones views or passion. At the same time it gives the readers the ability to respond and comment on what he has read on the blog. It empowers every reader to express his / her views.

The aim of this blog is to allow my readers the chance to pen their comments and thoughts on my weekly news article instantly. I will read your comments with great interest and take note of them. However, I will not be responding to them in most instances. If there is an issue raised by you that I think would be interesting to write about as a news article, I will definitely do so.

If you have specific health questions or issues which you think I might be able to help, please send me an e-mail. My e-mail address is surlck@doctors.org.uk

Thank you and stay healthy!

C K Leow.
